Submissions to the Journal

We welcome spontaneous submissions of articles that relate directly to research and teaching questions on historical fictions, from all scholarly disciplines. Articles should be styled with as little formatting as possible, and use the in-text (author date) form of referencing, with a Works Cited list at the end. Endnotes should be kept to a minimum. Articles should be between 6000 and 8000 words, exclusive of notes and Works Cited. Please see the stylesheet for further guidance. Longer and shorter articles will be considered if there are particular circumstances to justify their different lengths. All images to be published with an article must be submitted with written evidence of permission to reprint them on the journal website, under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. No articles will be considered for peer-review without these permissions.

All articles will be assessed rapidly on first receipt, and the authors informed whether the articles are unsuitable, or whether they are to go into peer-review. Articles will normally be published within 6 to 12 months of first receipt.

If you would like your forthcoming book to be considered for review, please send the publication information to the journal.

All enquiries concerning the journal should be sent to: mail@historicalfictionsjournal.org
